Any of you Marines guide me to some pics of our beloved yellow footprints at MCRD?

I have looked with little luck so decided to come to the source.

TIA....carry on....

Hey Brother Rich....

Excellent....I didn't come across that one so thanks for chiming in.

As an aside: It's always interesting to read your profile....you had one hell of a career in our Green Machine.

Thanks....

EDIT: Brother Dan....perfect. Both sites are just what I was looking for. Hope all is well with you both.

That's probably all I'll need now.

Carry on....

Well....I was MCRD San Diego 1965bbut didn't know if I could actually find the exact photo for San Diego or not.
Looks like Rich got a good site for them though.

Thanks again....

They weren't yellow way back then ... they were black and white. (;

It was usually before sunrise when the buses arrived, the lighting wasn't very good at the back of receiving at that time.Maybe they were white, too many years have passed to remember everything.

No footprints for my generation, I guess we knew how to stand next to each other. May 1954

Same here, no yellow footprints at PI in 1963, someone told me they first came into being there in 1964 or so.

Rich....
I did find one of those vids after my post.
The other is a good one too.

josephd....
I came here to interact with other Marines.
I could be wrong, but I perceive your one word response to be a lecture.
Don't need lectures...but thanks anyway.

Thanks to those that chimed in.

Bye.....

not a lecture or being facetious at all, you came here and asked a question looking for pictures of the yellow footprints at the depot....I answered

If you wanted to interact why not bring up a topic of conversation or ask an open ended question that can be discussed

Just wondering if it would be too much for 'Gramps' to put some Yellow Footprints on the driveway so when the Grandkids come over ??? I'd have to use several different sizes.

A sign of Gettin'Old ????

The question of things you either can't remember
and/or can't forget in life......

I've forgotten my platoon number on occasion ,
forgotten dates and locations for periods of time.
forgotten who was or wasn't with me once or twice...

I remember the TrainRide to Yamasee ,SC.
and the Bus ride and exit onto Parris Island..

BUT for the life of me,, I DON"T remember the
foot prints painted on the deck....

July 1963 .......

That's because, as someone said on this same thread, they were not there until 1964 or so.

Thank You Marine.
I was making a statement that I didn't
remember them.....

But then again, thats like saying you went
fishing and didnt catch anything,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Doesn't mean the fish weren't there ?

Of course. And I was making the statement that from my investigations, it looks like the footprints were not even there til the following year..
