yes, i got promoted to cpl in september. I put in some work these past couple of months. I got promoted to sgt in 10 months. raised my PFT by 47 points raised my rifle qual to expert got all 100 education points before april finished corporals course in February. I set my sights on a goal and it paid off.

You remind me of a Marine that worked for me back in 1999. He was reduced to PFC twice, due to alcohol related events, but got meritoriously promoted back to LCpl, then Cpl, and then Sgt. He then applied for the Marine Commissioning Program, went to the Naval Academy, and is today a Capt in the Marine Corps. Captain Jonathan Farrar ...

More proof. The USMC does reward top tier Marines and superior performance (many enlisted Marines don't believe it). My niece is proof too - LCpl in less than 10 months service and now up for meritorious Cpl.
