So I requested for leave in September for the month of December and had 20 days approved by my first sgt. I looked recently at it on my mol and all of a sudden it says leave request of behalf of snm has been sent back for rework by my ssgt. I have already bought a plane ticket and made numerous plans with my family for Christmas. What does this mean and why would they approve it in the first place if they were just gonna pull It back?

Not trying to be a smart azz...but it means you better talk to your SSGT ASAP!

Is this what they taught you in boot camp, rather to go up the chain of command you are to ask a forum about a staff sergeant we don't even know?

I have already gone up my chain of command. Obviously I'm not going to call a ssgt on the weekend. I was just asking for advice.

It's fine hah. I will let you guys know what happens because I have already been told this is ridiculous and shouldn't happen. I leave Wednesday on a flight. I'll hope for the best.

There is nothing that anyone on here can do about it in the first place. Chain Of Command. I do not think this forum is in it.

I don't know....I had Marines call me at all hours of the night. To either take care of business....get out of lock up....emergency leave...drunks...accidents....that was my job 24/7.....may have not always been cheerful.....or the most opportune time.....but I wiped myself off and went in. But being you don't leave to Wednesday..I guess Monday will work......

My platoon is so adamant about using chain of command if I did that they would chop my head off.

Last I checked a 1st Sgt out ranks a SSgt.....just sayin'

My block leave was approved by my 1st Sgt and then like 3 days prior my Plt. Sgt.(a Gunny) changed it to pending and was "working" it for some reason. My squad leader(a Sgt) and my section leader (SSgt) both basically said f**k him and to go ahead and go.....nothing ever came of it....other than our Plt. Sgt. getting relieved of command in country
