Every day there are news reports about more deaths. Every night on the TV are photos of death and destruction. Why are we still there?
The land is too large to secure all of it. The bad people causing
this damage can roam anywhere, and we can't possibly police
the whole place. Why are we still there?
We occupy this land, which we had to take by force; but it
causes us nothing but trouble. Why are we still there?
Their government is unstable and in the process of changing.
Why are we still there?
Refugees are fleeing by the thousands, driven from their homes.
Why are we still there?
It will cost billions to rebuild, which we can't afford.
Why are we still there?
We can't even secure the borders. Why are we still there?
And to repeat. Every day we hear of more and more
Americans killed in this dangerous land.
It is clear! . . . . . . . . .
We must abandon California.
We are still there for our freedom,
We do this so that our children can live free,
We are still there because we don't want to live in a country of fear of being attacked by terrorists,
My Brothers are still there because they believe in what they are doing,
I love my Brothers and I love our American way of life.
We have the freedom to do the things that everyone in the world is jealous of and that is why I as a Marine don't ask "why" when my President asks me to go and take care of business and stay until the job is done. Do you remember..........Semper Fidelis?

Law-enforcement and military action, in the world and in America.
Do you realize that the Military and law enforcement personnel are the only members of the public that are paid to give full-time attention to duties which are incumbent upon every citizen in our nation to do in the interest of community welfare?
The absence of crime and the presence of public order depend not upon the effectiveness of police or military action in our streets and in the world but upon the actions of that nations citizen to do what is right.
To honor its government, it’s institutions, its laws, its law-enforcement and military servants. That is our duty.
Prov 29:2
When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice;
but when the wicked rule, the people mourn.

I couldn't agree more, Sparrowhawk. However, when our government creates, passes and enforces laws which prohibit the citizen from doing "what is right" (often with the approval of the citizenry) it becomes an "us" against "them" society - where the ability to protect/defend ones self and family against a threat is compromised. Oregon has a self defense law but, with the passing of some recent laws, if physical force is used (especially if injury is sustained) the intended victim becomes the criminal for doing "what is right." The very police, who would normally rely on citizens helping to create order, are enforcing these laws which keep these citizens from getting involved or helping to stop crime and keep public order. With the current laws we have (in Oregon) if a girl, under the age of 18, were to attack my child and, in order to protect my child, if I were to pick this girl up by the waist and move her so that she was no longer a threat to my child, I will have committed sexual assault of a minor (this reads as a child molester on paperwork) because I touched her in an unwanted fashion between the shoulders and knees, as well as kidnaping because I physically moved her. I could easily face up to 15 years in prison just for protecting my child from a physical attack. The letter of the law is being followed and enforced - not the spirit. The police today are being trained that this is the correct way of law enforcement and, therefore, that the citizenry is not their ally but a potential enemy. I’m sure it is not broken down so simply but if the citizenry is not allowed to help keep order and the police are required to keep order, then it becomes a natural evolution to a “police state” in order to “keep the peace.” Look throughout history where government has taken the ability to govern away from the people - Communist Russia and Nazi Germany are recent examples. Gun laws are just a part of this - both in the case of Russia and Germany, firearms were taken away from the citizens for the “greater good” and look who it served. New York, Washington, D.C. and California have some of the strictest laws prohibiting firearms, yet have some of the highest crimes. The same with cities such as Chicago and Cincinnati. In areas where the rights of the people to protect themselves and, therefore, help keep order have been negated, the criminal has become more free to do harm. The people are being told that the police are there to protect them, therefore they do not need to protect themselves. Yet this is a lie as the Supreme Court has already ruled that the police are there as a means to keep order by enforcing laws and investigating crimes - in order to bring offenders to justice - and not to protect the individual citizen.
I agree with what the First Sgt stated. Other than yourself, Sparrowhawk, and a few other natural wonders - I don’t see much use for California.

If the politicans would ever let the military due what we were trained for, instead of being always polically correct. it would save lives. We are trained to fight not be a police force. Like the saying goes there are no rules in love and WAR. Anyone who has seen action will tell you it becomes more of a game of staying alive, then being polically correct. IMHO.
