First up, a big hello to our brothers across the pond!

I'm a British Royal Marine currently working on a plan to raise funds for injured Marines.

The basic breakdown is this: Next summer I want to cycle across the US following a similar route to the Race Across America event.

I'll be raising funds for the Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund who help look after injured Marines and their families (amongst other things).

Here's where I'd like one of you lads to come in. Next year is the 350th anniversary of the Royal Marines and I think it would be great to do this ride with a member of the USMC, each of us raising funds for our charity of choice.

I'm not a professional cyclist by any means - I've only started road cycling last year so you don't need a Tour de France level of cycling ability. The average distance we'd be looking to cover per day is around 120 miles (depending on terrain and weather).

Now logistically I know this is a fairly large endeavor and I'm still working out the plan (routes, itineraries, kit, transport etc) but wanted to gauge the level of interest.

I've contacted the RMCTF who are very keen on the idea and I've just sent an email to the Wounded Warrior Project who I have heard do some outstanding work over in the US.

The US charity would very much be the choice of the USMC rider as I'd consider it their decision but the WWP is a suggestion.

If anyone in particular would be keen on this or knows anyone who is please don't hesitate to give me a shout.

Cheers for your time.

Cheers for that mate, the search continues. I have had some interest and getting some contacts sorted out over this side with people who have been on exchanges so I've no doubt someone will come up.

As an aside - has anyone had anything to do with the Semper Fi Fund? They look like a good charity to raise funds for but just wondering if anyone has any experience with them.
