This was found in Vietnam by an Australian teacher. Dave Golden posted that he was trying to find the owner.

My number started with 236 which was in March 1967 when issued. This guy had to be before that. If you have an idea or can help, the link is above.

Hey Guns....

Shvt....I wish I could offer some help.

The only thing I notice is his serial # is 1982048.
My first three digits is '215' and I went to boot on 9/1/65.
Shooting from the hip I'd guess he was in a couple years before me?

Hope you get some more hits on this one.
I still have my tags that survived some hell so it would give me good feeling if these made their way back to the owner.
