Call the Visitor Center for the installation you wish to visit and find out what their policy is.

You have to have a sponsor at each installation you visit, do tons of paperwork and then be escorted by your guest/sponsor to only some of the base.

They are coming out now with a pre vetted pass somewhat like a visitors or admissions pass card, laminated, to alleviate all the paperwork everytime but you will still need your guest escort.

Hope that helps some.

I thought your post was a little curious (well, actually kinda funny). But, if you want to research it further, you can go to the following site and do some reading.

It's highly unlikely, you be able to get a DoD or CAC card, but reading up on it will help you better understand. Good Luck.

The site is:

Well its been a few years since I done any Marineing and now visiting my son I thought it would be nice to shop in the PX but i guess I will have to bring the boy with me when I go.Thank You for your advice and I very much appreciate you gentlemen for taking the time to help folks with your knowledge of the USMC I got out in 1989 and have had a real good time reconnecting with the USMC and I am so very Proud of my son who is dead in the middle of MCT at camp Geiger Please keep him in your prayers as I do all Marines past and present
