I don't know of his military service and he is not a friend of mine. Just someone in need of help. Am I wrong to have posted this?

No not at at. Just looking for some background info that wasn't in the story you posted.
There are so many in need all the time, it's sad but we try the best we can to help.
I know I donate alot but to members, families of this forum, veterans and esp. Marines...
I know what you mean, family first. His story struck a nerve with me though.. I have been out of work for the last month due to a shattered knee cap and although my situation wasn't what you would consider dire, it could have been if I didn't have vacation days saved up and medical insurance. I am still recovering, but have been able to work due to an understanding boss. This guy has, from what I understand, nothing. I can relate a little to his helplessness..
