Well after talking with a recruiter for a while now, I have decided that I will be enlisting and I have a set day to sign my contract(20130501). I currently plan on going into 58XX with a backup of 03XX. I couldn't happen but notice that to be in 58XX you must be 19 years old prior to completion of formal school. After thinking about it, I will hardly be 18 and 1/2 by the I complete MCT+MOS training. Does this mean that I will automatically be put into 03XX or will I have to wait on signing my contract for another few months? If it is the latter option would it still be possible to sign everything with the recruiter as planned on 5/1/13 and not go to MEPS for another 3-4 months or is MEPS required within a certain period?
