Just a thought that popped into my mind . . . my "grandson-in-law" (is there such a term?) is getting ready to deploy to Afghanistan mid-April. They are finishing up their pre-deployment training at 29 Palms now.
This will be his first tour in Afghanistan, after three tours in Iraq. He's an 03 with 2d MarDiv.
Does anybody else out there have family or friends currently on active duty?
Thought I'd add this bit of trivia - I live right outside of Parris Island, go to work on the base every day. It's changed a lot since I was there, a whole lot.
