Please excuse me if this question has been asked before (since the search bar doesn't work).
I'm in homeschooler in 9th grade and I have a chance to join a JROTC group at a local high school next semester. The only problem is my friend told me they only have Navy JROTC. If I joined this JROTC group would I still be promoted in the Marine Corps? (And what would the promotion be, PFC or LCpl?)

Someone should correct me if I am wrong but I believe any(branch) JROTC will get you contract PFC. Then if you graduate as Co. honor man you will be a LCpl.

Steelersfan, your timing is impeccable. With the curfew at 11:00 p.m. (2300 hrs), you managed to get your post in at 10:59 p.m., (2259 hrs).

Imagine that!

If you ARE in the 9th grade, that is your job presently. Stick to your studies. If you have a chance to do JROTC, go for it. Can't hurt.

Regarding curfew, on the home page, right side of the page, little ways down is the thread pertaining to it.
