Good morning Marines!:flag:

I was wondering what kind of attitude to have during recruit training? I'm a very competitive person. I LOVE to compete and push myself. I also enjoy showing off a little but I know when to stop. I have heard this could be a bad thing and I have also heard the opposite. Is it good to have this competitive-prideful attitude of mine or should I change it?

Thanks Marines!!

OK......IMO....

There's only one person you should compete with and that is yourself.
Forget the 'showing off' aspect of your ego as that's for high school mentality.
You have no idea of the challenge ahead of you to earn the EGA which is quite enough to concentrate on.

In other words...
Without fail, strive to set the best example mentally and physically among all your fellow recruits.
Keep you mouth shut, ears and eyes fully open.
Don't come in last at anything.
Most important phrase for you: "Sir, yes sir"!

I'm sure I've forgotten something as I'm on my first cup of mud.

I'm sure others will chime in with with more recommendations.

Good luck....and don't embarrass us weed hopper.
