Medal regs

Is an individual supposed to/required to wear all the medals or ribbons they rate? Or can they be selective and wear the top handful in order of precedence.

Its not gonna be an issue for myself but I was curious as it starts to get a bit awkward looking for some with a lot, when it looks like they are wearing a plaque over half of their chest. Yes, they were all earned but could someone make the personal choice for practicalities sake to only wear some of them?

I know you don't have to wear them all, but I'm not sure which ones. I think, nah, nevermind. But I know you don't have to wear them all, just not sure on the exact reg.
