Years ago on some other forum I read that Marines
from 8th & I regularly polish the USMC emblem at the base of the flagpole at the Vietnam Memorial. According to the poster, no other service branch performed this duty on their respective emblems. While this sounds entirely consistent with Marine behavior, is this story true? I'd like to be sure before I repeat it to someone else. Braggin' is great, but facts is better!

The answer is YES. And had been for years, but now I think
others are now doing it to. And Parks Dept not to happy
about it. Just remember if so, Marines were the first

Screw the Parks Dept. Marines still take care of their own.
