Winnipeg had a good Remembrance Day service yesterday. 3,000 people showed up. About 500 were from the Veterans organizations, but the other 2,500 were everyday citizens.
Afterwards we went to the Legion Hall for more celebrations. In attendance were a group of Canadian Viet Nam Veterans. It was great to talk and reminisce with the handful of fellow Marines!
The oddest thing I noticed was how we looked. Of all the poeple in the hall, the Marines still looked like a lethal force. It was like we just stacked our weapons in the next room.
We had a great time toasting our birthday! :marine:
