Hello -
I am looking for anyone who may remember a Corporal Esau Whitehead jr. who died in April of 1967 at the battle of Phu Tai (Thi) - a small ville on the south side of the Cua Viet river.
He enlisted at Brooklyn, NY; born July 12, 1947
He had brig duty at NAS jACKSONVILLE, FL. just prior to shipping out to WESTPAC.
Me might have gotten married in Florida prior to shipping out, but that's not for certain.
He was serving with Delta or Charlie, 1/3 at that time of his death. He was a relative "new guy" as he died after being in country 30 days.
He's buried on Long Island, NY
Any information that might lead me to his survivors will be appreciated.
