I was in bed at the VA Hospital, Muskogee, OK this morning,
recovering from surgery, getting ready to perhaps go home.
And I was suprised by two very welcome groups of visitors.
Two schoolteachers from the local area brought some of their
students to the VA Hospital to show the children what being
a veteran sometimes means. The children had made hand
written cards for each person in the ward, and indviduallly
thanked us for our service. I have not been able to get the
tears from my eyes yet. Patriotism is being taught to the
children. God Bless the United States of America and

Glad to see that Patriotism is being taught to our children yet....
My wife use to do go to the VA hospitals...but she didn't go on the Major Holidays that most celebrate...She use to go during the Easter Holiday when most of the vets were forgotten...
Their eyes sure lite up when they saw their baskets...

Prayers are being sent your way.....

Take Care

Outstanding story Brother. That is something that should be taught to all kids but sadly it is not due to violation of some goofy law some place. Mostly some PUNK ACLU Lawyer.

Unfortunately, I was in the West Haven CT VA medical center today and the nurses were handing out cards made by area students. Last week, the members of my Marine Corps League went to many school to give presentations of "what a veteran is".
