During the Vietnam War (http://www.foxnews.com/topics/politics/vietnam-war.htm#r_src=ramp), a previous Kaman model, the two-pilot HH-43 Huskie, flew more rescue missions than all other aircraft combined because of this unique hovering capability.

That was a very short range Helo and I'm not real sure about the claims of the most rescues by this Helo...

But to use a pilotless craft vs a manned craft just to avoid land mines and IED's.. does it really make that much sense, or are we putting to much emphasis on unmanned craft..??

As a side note, Boston Dynamics was running tests on a robotic mule to carry resup to units in remote areas and high elevations. I think they were trying to get DoD interested

I think they are doing the change to unmanned for the cost savings

With Iran having captured a "top of the list" Secret Drone a short while back, you wanna bet they are re thinking what it will take to defeat these suckers with something simple as a Jamming device
