I live in Switzerland, and most importantly, i was never a Member of the Marine Corps. But it must be great to be a Member of this fine and Brave Corps of Brothers in Arms. I wish everybody who attends a Marine Ball a great and joyfull time.

:marine: Thank you....for your 1st post; it's a beauty...too bad you're not a Marine, you seem to grasp our camraderie, especially as our Birthday rolls around each year...yes, US Marines celebrate: big, small or modest...the most important aspect is...we are proud of our Corps existence since 1775 and of our Marine inherent tradition is observed annually....thank you, again. I do have to admit nothing comes close to the Marine Ball other then the Hospital Corps Birthday Ball. We Doc's can actually celebrate without the Squids really getting a chance to get involved. I think we need a FMF Hospital Corps Birthday Ball where you have had to do a complete tour with the FMF to Qualify. Like the Marines the Corpsman who serve with them are a Breed Apart. Most are more Marine the Sailor anyway

Doc,
I couldn't agree with you more. I have had Platoon Corpsman who were more 'Marine' than the Marines in the platoon. The "Devil Docs" with us in Iraq were supurb, without question. The only screw up was when one of them accidently dosed himself with a morphine auto injector! :dazed: He was able to treat the wounded Marine before he went goofy, so it turned out to be a good laugh. Another group of Doc's kept a little Iraqi girl with a severe headwound alive for over 48 hours while waiting for weather to clear enough to run an evac, the time they were under fire. The only word I can say is "AWESOME!"
