My son is getting a General Discharge (Under Honorable Conditions)from the Marines. He was in about 13 months. Does anybody know if he can use the GI Bill or not?
Are their any exception to 90 day rules when a marine recruit is hurt while in basic training?

Dusty, you can try to get compensation for an injury you received or was aggravated in boot camp. You are ineligible for Non Service Connected Pension because you did not complete 90 days of active duty.

I appealed to the VA after discharge and was granted 100% Disability.
So your saying that I am ineligible for any other benefits because I don't have a 90 day accumulation.

Also...you are NOT a Marine unless you walked across the parade ground. If you didn't graduate, you do not RATE that title.

I see you call yourself or list yourself as a Marine again, you'll be permabanned from this site, understand?

And yes, that is what he is saying. You don't have 90 days of service so you aren't eligible for other benefits.

Without 90 days of active duty service (for your period, after 1980 a service member has to have 2 years of active duty) you are ineligible for non service connected disability pension. You will be denied for not having the minimum active duty requirements.

If you were rated 100% that was for compensation.

Obviously, listening is NOT a strong suit with you. You were given fair warning.

Permabanned. Thought I was playing?

Frakin WRONG, skippy.
