Lance Corporal Andrews is getting settled in at Iwakuni, she asked me to ask what everyone thought is the better bank to deal with, Navy Fed or USAA.
Thanks in advance for your help.

USAA https://www.usaa.com/inet/pages/why_choose_usaa_main

has banking services plus insurance.

I deal with them for life insurance no complaints have for years.

Navy Federal is a good credit union that deals in banking and financial services https://www.navyfederal.org/

Both can pretty much be accessed world/nation wide.

In my opinion it depends on what she wants to do and what services she wants to use.

I would read the site and see where and what would be her best investment plan for the future.

Personally for money...investing CD's...IRA's ect I would go with NFCU.

Stateside another good option is Marine Federal Credit Union.

Also in todays volatile market and economy which ones can give the most bang for her buck.

These days they could all go belly up in a heartbeat. Probably a buried coffee can would be the best security.

I use Navy Fed. Always able to take out loans with great interest rates from them. Never had any issues with them.

I have both and like them both. I've had Navy fed since I was a private in the Marine Corps. My automobile note and insurance are both through USAA.

I like the idea that when the government was haggling over a budget and there was the possibility that they would run out of money and be unable to pay sevicemen. Navy fed said regardless of whether there is a government deposit we will ensure that our members get their pay checks.

Used to be able to let funds ride on the books and just take enough pay to buy toiletries. When you rotated back to the states you usually had a good chunk of change.

Navy Fed would be a really good choice for her because they actually have a branch there in Iwakuni by the Food Court. USAA is very nice to have if your stateside and need vehicle insurance. Best rates I've found

Concur with Cpl Martin. I've had NavFed since 1984 and they've been great. USAA member since 1998, love 'em.

For Iwakuni I'd probably go with NavFed.
