I come on here every once in a while, sometimes I link to something on my blog: http://semperfiparents.com/, most of the time I seek advice.

It's been awhile since I've been here, the last time I checked in was when my daughter, who is now a Lance Corporal, was undergoing her MOS training (6842) at Keesler AFB in Biloxi.

When she learned that she would be going to MCAS Iwakuni Japan, i came on here and posted a question as to what she might expect.

As usual, the Leathernecks came through.

I posted a few of the replies i received here: http://semperfiparents.com/2011/08/24/marines-tell-me-about-japan/

Well, as of this A.M. my daughter is headed to Japan, and thanks to the fine people who take part in this forum, she (and I) have a better understanding of what she has ahead of her.

I may sign in from time to time to let you know what's going on, however, I really wanted to say THANK YOU for all the support you have shown a Marine's tired, beat up, and worn out old man.

Thanks to all of you once again.
