I was stationed there from 9/71 - 4/73. Greetings to any others from that particular era. Lord how I hated the S. Carolina low-country! The heat/humidity was stultifying & swampland simply had no geographical appeal to me. Looking back these many yrs later I realize what a quaint little southern town Beaufort was. I couldn't appreciate it then, but I'd love to go back & visit it now. However I still would not want to live there!
