Gary Larson, creator of the comic feature, "The Far Side," worked as a musician and a music store clerk after graduating from Washington State University in 1972. In 1979, he presented his cartoon drawings to The San Francisco Chronicle, and this eventually resulted in the syndication of "The Far Side."
