Does anyone know where I can purchase the M-16 rifle sling that is used at boot camp for qualification? I think it is just a 2-point sling with j-hooks. I want to buy one so that I can practice with my personal rifle.

Thanks in advance.

This is all I could find, but it is sold out.

I've got a better idea for you. How about you skip the self-directed "practice" and wait until the PMIs and line coaches teach you the Marine Corps way. Saves money on the sling too.

I've already been taught the "Marine Corps way." I'm currently an expert rifleman (316), but I would like to improve on that score.

PMIs and coaches can only do so much.

I'm taking it upon myself to improve, just like I do with everything else regarding my Marine Corps career.

I'm a Cpl, not a poolee.

The Brigade QM one is the one you want. If I had an extra I'd just send you one but I'm sold out myself at the moment.

Disregard everything after "hello." This is why old farts shouldn't post after they take their night-time medicine. Sgt Lep is correct about the sling.

That link showed an M14 sling which I have on my AR15 currently. Did the 16 have it's own sling? Ours was the 14 sling which went to nylon from cotton. Used to find em at surplus stores, but that was awhile back. Guess I'll keep mine. Just showed my son in law,,,,,Army,,,,, how to use it abt a month ago.

And Lep,,, If you're the armorer now I need one for my Enfield 308. Leather broke with age.

Hmmm...leather a bit harder but I'll keep an eye out. The M-1 slings, in cloth, I can get easy.

ALSO...for those in need, I have REAL, no kidding BORE CLEANER, original, in the original cans. Drop me a line.

Just kidding, Lep. I can fabricate my own leather. If you can help Jack I'd appreciate it.

LOL. I wasn't about the Bore cleaner. But yeah I can hook him up no problem.

Too bad I didnt find this place earlier. Hell I got about 10 web slings in a bag I aquired over the years.

I shot competition when I was in, and really liked using the leather slings.
Anyone know of a good one I can find nowadays. I cant remember the brand of the one my Gunny let me use,but it was a nice one.

Sgt Tig,

I would be willing to purchase any extra slings you have.

I received my sling today. I'm very disappointed. The pressure clamp does not stay fastened. It just falls open with slight movement.

Sending this back.

The search continues.

Dude, what is your current duty station? Check lejeune or pendalton yard sales.com. for the sling.

BTW,what are the specs on your AR?

I'm a reservist, so I don't have access to this stuff. I'm right outside an Army base, but they don't sell these things anywhere here.

I just found another one here.

Look on lejeuneyardsales.com for one. If you find one, send me a link and i'll mail it to you.

AND watch the carrier key nuts on your BCG. Shrubmaster dosent stake thier's key's properly and a lot of cops have learned this the hard way. http://www.ar15armory.com/forums/AR-carrier-key-staking-p-t19144.html

I am a sling man from the M-14 days. Loved to slide that elbow down in there and bring the hand up under the weapon. Sure helped steady the weapon and knock dust at 500 yards.

Give me a couple of days to check my stuff. Im pretty sure I got some good sling keepers. I know how a worn one can be a pain in yhe ass.
