CF contract options?

Just recently I signed my contract and understand that I have a 50/50 chance of getting the option I want of a ground ordinance Marine. After searching both the internet and forums from here, I would like to hear from Marines with experience with this contract option or with experience on both ends of the road (i.e. 1300 & 2100). Anything from school location and length after MCT, how long it takes to advance rank, likelyhood of being deployed with a grunt unit (my wish) vs. being stationed entire enlistment. Any shared experiences and knowledge is greatly appreciated.

How about filling out your profile a bit more...site rules, which can be found in the poolee and Ask A Marine forums....so the Marines who are going to answer your questions, know who they are talking to.
