I have AT coming up in a few weeks and the closest Marine Corps base to me is 5 hours away.

Does anyone know a good place to buy approved green on green gear?

I found a few sites that sell the shirts, but I'm having trouble finding the right shorts. I don't want the daisy dukes that some Marines consider shorts. I'm looking for the ones (I think Sofees) that have the black liner.

Does anyone know if the below shorts in Olive Drab are approved for PT?

What about these?

Why not just buy them off the MCCS online store? They are half the price, free shipping and you know they are within regs. Who are you trying to impress? Just make sure your legs get some sun, and beef up your calves.

Impress? Nobody. I'm a 27 year old married man with kids. I just prefer to keep my balls tucked in during PT, and with DADT going away... it's something we should all be more conscience of ;)

What is the URL for the MCCS online store? The link below isn't working for me.

haha! Good point. Try this link: http://www.usmc-mccs.org/shopping/uniformonline.cfm . You'll just have to put in your last name, social and birthday and it will let you in. I just bought uniform items off there a few weeks ago. It's good to go. If you do have to return something you can go into any MCCS store and return it in person.

Don't know if there is anything here but check out:

Good deal on the pullups/situps. Need to work a bit on that run, though! :)

Yeah... I have bad knees, but I've still been able to knock about 10 seconds off my run every few weeks. I started at 25 minutes, but I am determined to get to 300 by next year's PFT.

Thanks for all the help guys.

I'm guessing you're a reservist (or in Barstow or some****), so this issue will haunt you for awhile. Technically any kind of uniform item (purchased online) is supposed to be purchased from that MCCS store. A scam? Maybe a little, but its the safest bet, unless you are totally confident in the product/company you are buying from.

Good luck on getting your PFT up. Men generally peak at distance running in their early 30's, so you definitely can get it done.

I went ahead and purchased from the MCCS online store. They had exactly what I was looking for, though the descriptions sucked.

Everything was fairly priced and even overnight shipping was only $10.

Thanks, everyone.

I dunno, there are some weird PT shorts brands out there. I just bought some in AGH and they are wierd and crappy. Anyway, Soffe is the way to go, if available..unless you need swim trunks.

Devilbone2 - LOL. I was just trying to see if they were nylon, poly, or cotton. I hate the nylon ones. Poly is the way to go. No descriptions so I rolled the dice on appearance.

I gotcha. You are looking for the ones that you got in boot camp not the little green weenies.
