Will be at MCRD PI in a few more days (June 3-4) to watch a recruit graduation ceremony.
Was just curious to know if there are USMC MP's at the front gate or contract civilian police? Hoping to see real Marines at the gate and not civilians but I hear that is the norm today.
Thanks in advance for any info.

There in dec marines were standing tall both at PI and the air station

Went back for a visit in 1996 it was USMC MPs but who knows today, Top.
Dave, you told us, loved ones can go to P.I. and stand on the visitors side of the fence and watch the training. During a break, can the boots go over to the fence and talk to their family, thats there watching? Do they have bleachers to sit on?

I was at MCAS Beaufort April 2010, they were Marine MPs.
No MP arm bands, they looked more like civilian cops.
