I could use some help guys I am running an event and me and my Marines are raising money for a good friend of mine who was injured in Afghanistan.
A team has been put together consisting of friends and squad members of 3rd Batallion 8th Marines in order to run the 10 mile obstacle course known as "Tough Mudder" on October 22, 2011 on behalf of CPL Matthew Bowman.
CPL Bowman of Lafyette, Indiana was injured on Feburary 28, 2011 while on patrol with 3rd Squad, 2nd Platoon in the "Green Zone" of the Upper Gareshk Valley Afghanistan. On that day CPL Bowman lost both of his legs, his index and pinky of his left hand, and had other arm and facial injuries.
Team Cpl Matthew Bowman USMC consists of the following 3/8 Marines
Cpl Michael Woodall, LCPL Michael Brana, LCPL Ryan Gleason, LCPL Jacob Perez, LCPL John Rasoilo, LCPL Shawn Tague, LCPL Bob Cassini and LCPL Zidan Sheabar.
We decided that we were going to run this grueling 10.1 mile obstacle event (sponsored by the Wounded Warriors Project) and while doing so, raise money for Cpl Bowman and his family (Wife Paige and Sons Jayce and Brett) They have a long road ahead, which has been tough, but the progress being made by Matt is overwhelming and exciting for us all.
