I just got called by a Prior Service Recruiter to take orders to Stuttgart Germany for 12 months.
I am a non-ob reservist (in my IRR time but just drilling anyways) and want to know what they pay would be like.
I know base pay for a Sergeant over 6 is around $2800 but I am curious as to how the BAH and other entitlements work. I was told I would receive BAH, Per Diem, and possibly COLA. My BAH code right now is Tampa, FL but not sure if I would keep that BAH or rate the overseas BAH and be in a barracks. Or if I am in fact in a barracks do I still rate BAH from there since I will be stationed there.
I rate BAH because I am a single parent. But will be go over unaccompanied.
Can someone give me a rough breakdown of what I would probably be making. I know all the calculators on google but like I said I am confused about how the per diem and BAH would work.

You would make like $3425/mo in BAH if you dont live in the Barracks and cola is like $315/month.

Sir I have seen this calculator... I have a child which entitles me to BAH.... I was just curious from an admin point of view if I would rate the tampa BAH because child is there... or the Germany BAH (if I lived in town there obviously that BAH) but if I was in the barracks....

My stepmom had a similar situation..... And this is what she told me....
Since I am reserve it is TAD or a MOB order NOT a PCS move... It is for 1 year
She said I should rate base pay, FULL Per Diem, and my HOME BAH
Admin bubbas.... confirm?

Because it is $394 a day... thats like $11 k a month... Sounds like ALOT!

Your per diem should be around 350 a month bro. For example I check in may 24 to camp Johnson and I get full pay, bah, bas(per diem) and family sep.

Per diem for each day should cover hotel costs and food I have been TAD before when I was at Kirtland AFB in New Mexico and got like $150 a day there

Yeah but that was using your govt card though correct? I think mine is 350 a month cuz I'm in the barracks? You got me on that one. You should be getting tier 2 family sep though

Not to confuse you, but are you being stationed in Germany or being sent TAD there (With your original duty station 4th AAV? thats what I'm assuming)
If you are being no bull**** PCSing to Germany, you will be given OHA for Germany.
If you are going TAD with your home unit still in Tampa, you will get Tampa's BAH.
Edit: It sounds like you are going TAD, so what weapons is saying is correct.

Super strange and must be true! Thats why I am a Sergeant now... Dont you think I would have been kicked out for that if it was true... Or NJP'd ... Court Martialed.... or at least NON Rec'd for a while. But, I am a sergeant now so whatever.

UPDATE.... I got the S-1 OIC to email me... apparently I rate the following
Base pay E-5 over 6
BAH (Tampa, FL)
Comrats
DISCOUNTED Lodging (not the full $253 Germany offers because base hotel is only 30-40 a day he said)
Per Diem (I am assuming this is the food per diem because he said around $100 a day and the Germany FOOD stipend per diem is $113)
and another $325 a month (Assuming Special Duty pay)
So as I see it, it looks like only the $2800 base pay is taxable income. And the additional $1543 (BAH) $3000 (per diem $100 x 30 days) and comrats $280, and SDA pay $325 is all non-taxable.
So all in all... it is less than I was hoping for but still should be pulling around $7,000 a month being TAD ..... Pay stateside would be roughly $4,000 a month....
Does anyone think that this sounds realistic?
If you go to panzer or patch you will live in the barracks as a geo bachelor. You won't rate a rental car or per diem and there is a mess hall available on both panzer and patch so you would not rate com rats. They don't put E-5's in the hotel unless there is not space available in the barracks.

I am on TAD orders NOT PCS'ing. So I dont rate a barracks. I do rate meals and NO rental car from what the S-1 OIC said. He specifically said base billeting is $30-$40 a day so I get a fraction of the lodging expense. Sorry I wasted time on here. I was just impatient and didn't think the S-1 Officer would get back to me as quickly as he did.
They are IMA orders from MOBCOM
Things must have changed the last 6 months since I left Stuttgart. My wife worked in the admin section that specifically with orders, pay, and billetting for activated reservists on TDY orders.
