Uhh...
I remember this happening... but it's another example of exaggeration. Funny, but like we're told as poolees often, that the Marine Corps sells an image. I was told the Chesty quote, "We're surrounded, the enemy can't get away now" was most likely some disgruntled Marine complaining and was turned into a now moto phrase.
