I recently contacted a Prior Service recruiter asking about the active reserves. I had already done a little bit of research and I knew my MOS wasn't supported so I'd have to be retrained if I were to get into the program. The PSR told me that since I've improved my PFT by almost 100 points in the past year, scored a 96 GT on my ASVAB, shot expert, and got meritorious Lcpl out of MOS school that I would have a pretty good chance of getting my package approved and going. He told me there aren't any retrain spots open in this current fiscal year and to give him a call around early August so I can get my package all ready before Fiscal year 2012 hits.

Thing is that he is a recruiter and they have the uncanny ability to make crap sound like honey. So I want to know if he spouting nonsense or if there is actually (God willing) a very good chance of me going active reserves when the next fiscal year rolls up.
