Any Marines here ever been on IMA (Individual Mobilization Augmentees)? If so, what did you think? How/why did you go on IMA? I just heard about it today and am still trying to understand it. You're a reservist who fills a billet for an active unit? And you serve basically the same amount of time per year that an SMCR Marine does, but not necessarily on the weekends or every month? Just wondering if I'm understanding this gig right.

I did an IMA billet at MCIA. Basically you just show up when the SMCR guys drill. Be careful though, I got called back from the IRR and put back on active duty and sent overseas.
