Hey everybody,

This is my first post. I'm not a Marine, but BOTH of my parents count themselves among your ranks. My dad was a DI after he returned from Vietnam, and I was hoping that you all would share some of your best DI/boot camp stories with me. Funny ones, sad ones, inspirational ones, whatever comes to mind.

Thanks in advance for sharing

Writer (interesting first name)

There are lots of threads on here re this subject matter. Just do a search for them. Check out all the forums not just this one.

Good luck to you

thanks guys, and writer's not my name, it's my job. I'm working on a Marine Corps related project that I'm hoping will make my folks proud. Will continue to check out several of the other threads, but since the DI stories are scattered among thousands of other posts, I was hoping to get a few new ones posted here. Will keep digging. Thanks again.

Thanks Dave. I'll check it out.

And Dan, if you don't want to reply because I called myself writer, then that is certainly your prerogative. I thought that this would be a good resource for speaking with Marines directly, but if that's not the case, I already have many other resources that I can explore.

Thanks again for your time.

Nicada or "writer" or whatever you call yourself. You came on here asking for personal stories. I have no problem with that but before I talk to a man I'd like to know to whom I'm speaking. It's common courtesy. My name is Dave Bauer, now if you don't want to give your full name no problem, first would be sufficient. Just don't give out with the "writer" cr$p

The Commander gave you good advice where to look for info then called you when you said your first name wasn't "writer" but that's how it was listed, so man up.
