I like to know if its possible to obtain security clearance if you only have a green card. Not Top Secret.

The MOS's I'm interested are:
Air traffic controller
Ammo Tech
Paralegal clerk

I apologize in advance for talking bout the Army, but I realize that ATC and Paralegal specialist are for citizens ONLY in the Army, is it the same for the Marine Corps?

Thank you in advance,
Enoch

I'm also currently a Green Card holder myself, so I can tell you from experience. Let me just say you have no clearance to even walk behind the counter at the chowhall.

With that being said, once you are in,the best thing to do is go through the process of getting your Citizenship, and with that, you can get your clearance later down the road.

My wife has a green card and that caused an extra interview during my secret clearance investigation

Bump? Really, are we on some gaming forum or something all of a sudden? This is about as best an answer as you are going to get. No citizenship=No security clearance. I though I made it clear on my last post.

Ive noticed this recently people writing "bump" like we are on a gaming forum trying to get a sticky

All due respect, you say "No citizenship=No security clearance"

However, Marine3451 says,

"My wife has a green card and that caused an extra interview during my secret clearance investigation"

I was attempting to receive other inputs because as you can see or perhaps not, the answers conflict.

Regardless, i apologize if my bump post was offensive.

Enoch, what Marine3451 means, his wife is the green card holder, not him. Being married to a non citizen causes an extra step in the process of obtaining security clearance.

That's odd. He had a profile set up when I answered his question. I made sure of it.
