Bro I believe the only advantage you have is that you'll be able to be home/stateside with your family and still able to work your current employment with still having earned/being a Marine.
I'm going reserve and I know the drill "usually" goes a weekend a month and 2 weeks out of the summer until you volunteer/called up for a deployment. Depending on your MOS and Unit *I guess Unit* will be called up when the Corps need's that MOS field in the AD world.
One real big plus is that you'll be able to ship out ASAP to Recruit Training! A couple more lbs and I'm taking that hr and 30 min ride to Parris Island!
