What are your favorite bands or artists to listen to while you are working out?

For me, Lamb of God is the same thing as an energy supplement. Chris Adler on drums gets me through the last half mile or so. When it comes to rap, Aesop Rock is good. Him or MF Doom.

I know this sounds really fruity...

the soundtrack from Last of the Mohicans. It's one of my favorite movies, and that orchestra ensemble with the fiddle really gets me amped for some unknown reason. Makes me want to put a tomahawk in a foo's back.:sick:

NO music in recruit training, means NO music for Kevin.

I dont like to listen to music while PTing because it helps MOTIVATE me, and I see it as a CRUCH, just dig down and find your own motivation.

What specific bands? I need to add some more to my playlist.

@kjohnson
I knew somebody was going to say that. It is true, even though it may suck. At least they're will be cadences to get my mind off of it. I don't know how they do it at RT, but do they tell you how long they are going to run us on a normal run? I can motivate myself if I don't know, but if I do I just keep thinking about that finishing point.

Im not sure if they tell you but thats why they do cadences, Im sure youll be alot more motivated when your surrounded by your platoon also. But I would suggest breaking it down and doing a few 8-9 mile runs, you really get a runners high once you hit 5 plus miles, plus itll make a PFT seem alot shorter if your used to running longer distances

Agree. Find motivation in yourself, I and you will be doing that throughout boot camp. No music for 3 months.

I always listen to music when I run, and I perform just fine when I don't have any. Of course, it's more the competition when PTing with other people. If I'm not the last one standing I am not gonna fall out haha. I HATE to lose.

I took a bunch of Marine running cadences off of YouTube and put them on my iPod. It's a huge adrenaline booster. :)
