I just received this from Capt Tom Moore:
I was notified by Gene's neighbor (Harry Heache) that Gene passed away at about 1800 (Kansas City time). on Monday 14 February. Father "Lou" the V.A. Chaplin and Gene's parish priest was at his bedside. Gene is to be cremated and a memorial service will be held at the V.A. Chapel in Fort Wayne. Sometime in the future, his ashes will be laid to rest at the National Cemetary in Quantico, VA.
I will try to keep you updated as required.
God Bless and Semper Fi,
Tom Moore
