News is starting to come over the wires that Maj Dick Winters of "Band of Brothers" fame has died today. Evidently he has been suffering from some long term illness. No other info available yet.

If this is true, then yes he was a great man. Not only a great combat leader but also a man who carried his compassion into civilian life.
Rest in Peace Major and thank you and your generation for securing our freedom. I sincerely hope sir we don't waste what you fought for
