So I have been thinking about doing a lat move since summer time. I've ran into a few snags, mainly my admin is useless and offers me no real help. I am a Sgt and a reservist. So, allow me to show what I know or think I know about doing a lat move to the 0211 field.
1) I have to have a secret clearance
2) I then need to apply for and then be deemed eligible or not
3) Then you must contact the CI unit and request the paperwork needed, i.e. 5 page autobiography and 10 page research paper
4) Stand in front of a board of CI Marines

I know that after I finally get my admin to run my security clearance paperwork I need to contact my SSO. Who is my SSO? What shop does a SSO normally work in? I know I qualify for the ability to apply for a TS clearance but I just don't how to do it.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

The SSO is the Special Security Office or Officer. They usually work in the G-2 at the MEF/Div/Wing level.
