Good-Bye 0351?

This came to be a bit of a shock for me. It was passed to the Assaultmen in my platoon that the MOS of 0351 will be terminated by December of 2011. I'm, like I said, shocked, but also a nit skeptic, since as many of you know, word in the Marine Corps changes all the time.

What are you guy's thoughts on this? What will happen to the 51's that are in the fleet? Will they continue to be, but just become a slowly dying breed? Or will they just be converted into something else?

If it does happen they'll just redesignate everyone unless they are making a "new" MOS from it.

Same thing is planned for AAV's in the future. Everyone that's a 1833/2141 will eventually be rolling into one new MOS when/if the EFV is pushed out, who know's when that'll hapen.
