Recently I was fortunate enough to get into Aviation Mechanics but wasn't assigned to rotary wing/fixed wing. My recruiter told me I would be given a test to determine that later on. My question is when is the test and what can I study to do my absolute best on it?

More than likely be taking that test once in Pensacola, FL for your MOS A-school.
