So I have been telling my recruiter that i want a job in the 03xx field. They told me that infantry is all booked up for almost another year. Although i was told that once i go down to PI I can ask for a transfer and put on a waiting list of some sort. Im just not sure if this is the truth of not. Even though I want 03xx more than anything, the becoming of a Marine is my first goal and I won't let this discourage me.
My recruiter told me I have 03xx and then a Gunnery Sergeant called me and confirmed, this was 11 days ago.

what? really? The gunny at my RSS said that all Infantry jobs in the northeast are all booked up. Where do you live?
I am in the West so that might be why.

I was supposed to leave Dec. 6th but back in October I also wanted a 03xx contract which wasn't available in that period of the year, and there was one left in the next period of the year that my recruiter fought for and got me, so now I leave Feb. 7th and I dont think there are much left if any.
Yeah, all 03XX jobs are backed up about 7 months. The guys at my station are all having trouble getting into the field. I wouldn't count on being put on a waiting list. You have to go in with SOME sort of contract, open or not. Whoever told you that is yankin' yer chain.

don't count on that. Ppl with 0311 contract not letting that **** go with out a fight.

I got a phone call this morning from my recruiter, he got me an 3xx MOS. So you never know what might happen, just stay positive about it

Yeah I stay really firm on infantry but well see what happens I guess, Ive been at it for a while so I think they know how bad I want it.
