MOS question

Hey Marines,
I am Seriously considering enlisting in the USMC and I have a question..as my MOS I am considering 1371 and 0311...not sure of my third and which to have as a primary..If I chose 1371 as a primary and 0311 as secondary would I go to SOI aswell? And vise-versa..

Every Marine goes to SOI(school of infantry) no matter what your MOS is. If your an 03xx you will be with ITB(infantry training battalion) and if you go 13xx you will train with MCT(marine combat training battalion).

As far as your MOS choices go, you don't get a primary and secondary. You choose one based and thats what you get contracted to. Also understand you do not get to choose a specific MOS, for example if you wanted to be a 1371/combat engineer you would choose the 13xx field and then hope you get picked for 1371. If you don't you could be end up being numerous other MOS's. Same with 03xx, you could end up being an 0331, 0351, 0352, etc...
