28th October 1664. An Oder-in-Council approved the raising of 1200 soldiers as The Duke of York and Albany's Maritime Regt. of Foot formed from the bands of London as soldiers for the fleet.
346 years on and little has changed. Happy Birthday Royals everywhere.

I see everyone wants to raise a glass for the BRMs birthday...but I have to tell you...Be REALLY careful about drinking with Royal Marines. I did so in Thailand back in the 70s. First....they will drink you under the table ( a couple of times ) and then sober you up when the Aussie Navy attempts to crash their bar!
Great memories. One hell of a fight...and a couple of loose teeth to remember the fun! lol.

I bet! My Grandfather was a guy just like that. A British Navy man that got territorial over his watering hole...once the dust setteled it would be time to crack out another lager....LOL!
